You have arrived at the website of Brian Cairney,
Director of Photography, Lighting Cameraman, Vision Mixer, Conspiracy Theorist,
inventor of the Tinned Banana®, discoverer of humour, poetry and
grief - basically an all round nice guy.I now split my time between my home in Scotland and my base on the north east coast of Brazil. Totally committed with a proven track-record, clean driving licence, Public Liability Insurance, Health & Safety certified, BECTU membership, reliable, efficient and trustworthy. |

 I
own my own Sony HVR Z1E HD/DVCAM Camera equipment and Red Rock Micro
prime lens adaptor, I shoot on both Film and all Digital Video
formats in studios or on location at home or abroad.
I’ve worked on
Dramas, Paranormal Investigations, Television
Documentaries, Music
& Arts, Light Entertainment, Scientific &
Technical, Travel
Films, Corporate & Commercials and Low Budget Feature
productions. I am also
happy to shoot worthwhile charity productions free of charge; I
climbed Africa's highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise over
£3'500 for charity. I believe inside every
great artist there is a madman therefore inside every great madman
there is an
artist.

In the spring of 2007 an
intense fire completely gutted a storage unit at Fenton Barns and my
entire 25 year archives of master tapes, edited films, showreels, 16 mm
film projects, film memorabilia and documents were completely destroyed
in less than 30 minutes. All the lost material is irreplaceable. If I may leave you with one thought remember the Universe started from bugger-all ! |

I
have freelanced in the Film & Television Industry for over 20 years as both
a Cameraman and Director, now adding Vision Mixing to my repertoire. My
forte is Lighting for Film & Video productions and
I am fully qualified at
under achieving. With an artistic eye, a knowledge of composition, a
wicked sense of humour and a love of music I
basically bring quality moving images to those who do not want them. Without a doubt
well experienced, well travelled and well hung.
